Action speaks louder than voice.
When you meet someone who truly loves you, their words will match their actions. While someone can pretend for sometime, no one can pretend for too long. Someone said that a guy can pretend for 7years as long as he gets what he wants, while a lady can pretend for a life time. I don't know how true this is anyway.
But If someone has proven him/herself as someone whose words matches his/her action, chances are that this person truly loves you.
Actions like mutual respect, encouragement, chastity, godliness, trustworthiness, patience, kindness,compassion, sacrifice, looking out for one another, helping where necessary and within reason etc, all these are pointers that this person truly loves you. Again when one truly loves you, their actions will point you to God. They will be very interested in your spiritual development. Questions like did you go to church today? How was service? Any fellowship today? These are pointers that this person truly loves you. Don't forget the golden rule. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness, every other things shall be added unto you.
