CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP QUALITIES PART 2 || Sommy Increase' Blog

Worshipers being led by a spiritual leader in the worship of God
(Contd from the Part 1 of this post)

The "Third" principal of good leadership is "Good Judgement". Acts 27:9. A good leader does not gamble, he's careful , he may take a calculated risk, but he's not a pure gambler. He does not trust luck. He doesn't say, let's just go for it and hope for the best. He uses good judgement. That's the greatest tension in the ministry today, is fear you won't use good judgement. It's also the number one reason for failed Pastors today. They don't use good judgement. They run off in certain things, without considering the cost.

They need to be cautious, they need to be careful, they need to be sensitive, they need to seek wise counselling. Proverbs 1:5. And never try to initiate anything that has not already been initiated by the Holy Spirit. So what ever area you move into, the Holy Spirit of God is already there and your safe. Acts 6:1-3. That was the first statement of the organised church. The Church only organised to accommodate a ministry that was already going on. don't ever do it unless you know God's already begun it. Use good judgement from the word of God, and let the Holy Spirit move. As a leader your not allowed to make to many mistakes, before a break down of confidence. So a leader is "Trusted", "Takes the Initiative", and "Uses Good Judgement". Acts 27:11-24. Paul was speaking with authority, and that's the "Fourth" principle of good leadership. "Speaking with Authority" How could he be so bold?
The first reason was that He knew his subject, and the second; He meant it. That's what you have to have when you preach the Bible, Matt.7:28,29. Why did Jesus speak with authority? because He knew His subject and He meant it. People are looking for authority. If you have the Truth, and God's your authority, speak with authority, you've got nothing to be ashamed of. Jesus said all authority is given to me, and I give it to you. 1 Tim. 4:11. God gave us the ten Commandments. He commands with authority.

The "Fifth" principle of good leadership is "Strengthen Others". Acts 27:22-25. Paul's extorting them and pouring out all this authority into them and their starting to feel better about themselves There are three types of people leaders have to deal with. 1 Thes. 5:14.

1 "Unruly People". Unruly people who don't know where the limits are, they are always living on the edge. So you have to build some fences, and tell them what is permissible.

2 "Feeble minded" their the people who are just opposite. The don't want to try anything for fear of failure. So you have to encourage them all the time.

3 Then you've got the weak who need special attention in some weak area of their life. So a leader has to strengthen people, with his confidence and boldness.

The "Sixth" principle of good leadership is "Optimistic and Enthusiastic" And we that have the privilege of being Christians and know the riches of Jesus Christ have a lot to be enthusiastic about.

The "Seventh" principle of good leadership is, a good leader "Never Compromises His Absolutes". Vs. 26-32. Paul said everybody has to stay in the ship or some would perish Vs.31,37. This was God's word to him in Vs. 24. And everyone of us has to determine what those Truths and Absolutes in the Word of God are, and stand on them. If you compromise you lose your integrity and lose your followers. determine what your absolutes are and never compromise. dot't sell your soul for a pot of porridge.

The "Eighth" principle of good leadership is Focus on "Objectives and not on Obstacles" Vs. 33,34. Paul wasn't worried about the storm or ship wreck, he just wanted to make sure everybody was strong enough to swim to shore. A good leader doesn't see the hurdles, he just sees the finish line.

The "Ninth" principle of a good leader is a good leader "Leads by example" Vs.35-38. 1 Tim.4:12-16. 1 Peter 5:3. Be a model of Godliness from which your followers can pattern their lives. Remember God can only work through human examples.

The "Tenth" principle of a good leader is a good leader "Activates People" All through the journey Paul has people doing things. He went to Thessalonica and built a Church in two weeks. 1 Thes.1:8. You have to be able to activate and delegate Authority. A leader also succeeds. Paul rose from a position of prisoner to a leader because he manifested trust, initiative, good judgement, authority in his speaking, he strengthened others, he was optimistic and enthusiastic, he never compromised on his absolutes, he focused on objectives rather that obstacles, he lead by example, he dedicated responsibility, and he succeeded. And they all got to shore. What a man. God needs leaders and these are the Principles. But more than that we need God in our life's to fulfill this, because we fall short of these Principles that were manifest in Paul. And we need to follow the pattern that God has set for us to fill the leadership rolls that are waiting for us.

God bless!!
