North Korea, officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, is a country in East Asia constituting the northern part of the Korean Peninsula. Pyongyang is the nation's capital and largest city.

Below is a list of some unknown things about North Korea that are so weird.

1. Punishment of an Offender along with Family.

In North Korea if you commit a crime, your family is being punished along with you but in a labour camp. In a normal case scenario, when the law is broken the offender goes to court and is judged alone, but in here they believe that your family is a part of you and deserves share in your pain. So if you're being condemned for a particular crime, get ready to take your family along with you.

2. Carrying a bible is a crime.

Christianity is not allowed in the country as it is considered an act of disobedience towards the government. When a Christian is seen carrying the bible, the person is caught and severely punished without mercy.

 3.  It is a Crime Watching South Korean movies.

In North Korea, watching movies produced or owned by their neighbouring country is an act of disobedience to their country, and it is considered a punishable crime.

4. Every 5 Years an Election is held for just one candidate.

Every 5 years they hold an Election, which is very normal in many countries. But instead of having at least two candidates for the people to choose from, they give only one candidate with the second option being 'Torture or Death'. This is very difficult for the citizens to make decisions on who they want to lead them.

5. Only about 5% of North Koreans use the Internet.

Before anyone uses the internet, the Government gives you a special license which comes after a series of screenings. Specific websites are given out to browse on, and anything apart from that is a punishable offense by the Government.

6. The Government recommends Hair-Cut for everyone.

Only the government recommended hair-cut is allowed in North Korea, any other hair-cut apart from what the government has recommended is a crime and must not go unpunished. Though the only person that has a different hair-cut is their president.

7. A Special Group called the 'Pleasure Squad'.

The Government recognises a group called the Pleasure Squad, which is responsible for the sexual satisfaction of all the officials of the government. (Though pornography is banned in the country).
