Service is what we do in the name of the Lord, while Fellowship is the communion we share with him.
Our Service and Fellowship are parts of our Christian race, and until they strike a balance our race isn't complete. Doing things in the name of the Lord without having a proper communion with him always gives a faulty result and ought to be corrected.
No Service to God is valuable without Fellowship, i.e our Fellowship qualifies our Service to God.
Like Mary and Martha, Jesus valued the Fellowship he was having with Mary than Martha's Service for him. Jesus did so because he is more interested in us when we're at the place where he can extravagantly pour into us, because only a man that has received generously from him can render a reasonable Service.
Some times we get distracted by our Service to God(and Humanity) that we forget our Fellowship with him, don't forget any Service without Fellowship is like the sacrifice of a fool.
Like Saul in the bible, he decided to help God by giving him the best livestock for sacrifice, that was a good Service but it was against his Fellowship with him (I believe you know the result?)
Like Nadab and Abihu(Lev. 10:1-2), Like Korah, Dathan, and Abiram(Num. 16), they offered God their Service which is the burning of incense, but there was no Fellowship to back it up and what a disaster they brought on themselves.
It is during our Fellowship with God we understand exactly how he wants us to be, and when fruitfully executed becomes his friend(Just like Enoch, Abraham, David, etc.)
David was never said to be a righteous man, but he knows how to get his creator, he used praise.
Abraham was never said to be a righteous man, but he had a strong Fellowship with his God and thus became a man of Faith.
Therefore, before worshipping God through Service, let's have good Fellowship with him and allow him pour extravagantly into us so we can get the Auction to Function through the Holy Spirit.
